This is a 1/100 RX-93-V-2 Hi-Nu Gundam resin conversion kit for the MG RX-93-V Nu Gundam. This was my third resin conversion kit, and I must say it was a doozy. The recast was not the best. I had multiple panel lines I had to fill and rescribe, as well as pin holes and pieces not lining up correctly, which caused gaps and unevenness. So, needless to say, there was much puttying and sanding involved in this kit.

For the paint scheme, I wanted to use something different than the normal white and blue, so I decided to go with gray, purple, and white. Also, I wasn't too crazy about the way the original Hi-Nu design used two faded stripes on the fin funnels, but I liked the idea of using fades on various parts on this kit. So I decided to incorporate fades on the head, shoulders, skirt armor, bottom of the legs, and the fin funnels. That way you still get a feel of the original design by way of the fade, yet I was able to add my own "keenix" feel to the kit. The kit was completely airbrushed with Tamiya Acrylic paints and then top coated with a mixture of Future and Tamiya Flat.

On the modification side of things, I did do a little. I swapped all resin poly caps and ball joints with either Wave Option Parts or Kotobukiya Option Parts. On the units that hold the fin funnels to the wings, I added poly caps, along with the units that hold the fuel tanks to the backpack. On the wings themselves, I used the "T" joint like you're supposed to, but I also added ball joints to allow them to move up and down as well as from side to side. I also added balls joints to the shoulder areas.

One more thing I want to mention. I want to give a Huge Thanks to Phil Goodwin for creating the decals that I used on this kit. You can find Phil over at his website Mobile Suit Hanger.
